Second vignette completed

Hello dear readers,  I hope you are all safe and healthy, taking care of yourselves.

As you probably know, Blogger is changing or updating the blogging program.  As from June 20, 2020 we shall all have to use the new Blogger. I'm already using the New Blogger for this post. Until now, I think I successfully uploaded photos and edited a draft.  There is still a lot to learn. (links, layouts, etc.)

Here are a few photos of my second "Corona" finished vignette.  I'm not so sure about the bunnies. What do you think, shall I take them out and put a few bushes instead?

Warning about Cricut

I copied this from a member of one of my F/B groups. I know some of you use Cricut and some intend to purchase and use it in the future. The person I copied it from, asks to please spread the word.
"The fire investigator asked us to notify anyone we knew with a Cricut machine. If you own a Cricut machine please keep it unplugged when not in use. Mine was plugged in, on and NOT in use when the fire started. We are not the first people whose Cricut started a fire.
We are out of our home for 8+months. It’s a complete gut. Just unplug the damn machine! Here’s a before and after picture. We bought the Cricut explore air 2 on May 13, 2019 brand new.
EDIT: initially the fire marshal thought it was the extension cord. HOWEVER, the Fire Investigator said it was the Cricut. Please be kind & don’t comment mean things, no need to be nasty to me about it. I’m just spreading the word. I never thought to unplug my devices.

"

I have had a bit of struggle with this new program, especially upon uploading the photos. I hope
my next post will be easier.

Have a peaceful, healthy weekend with blessings, my dear friends.

My second "Corona" vignette, and a dollhouse for the dollhouse

Hello dear readers,

I hope everyone is well. Here, we have fewer new cases of the virus each day and hopefully it will continue this way.

Making the second box was a lot easier. It sits perfectly in the frame. As to the scene itself, this was a problem. I wanted it to have something in common with the first one but except for doing another barbecue I had no idea for an outdoor theme. It started as a barbecue scene, I even made a tiny grill from bits of wood and legs from paper clips. but slowly as I was working, new ideas kept jumping up and it is changing into a "secret, enchanted garden".  It is taking me longer to finish, as it needs lots of time-consuming flowers but very soon it will be completed.

The walls are from a disposable styrofoam plate. The ground is a green-dyed thin soft foam sheet. The gate is from 2 pieces of metal embellishments.

Remember the little wooden laser cut house? I bought a parcel containing 18 pieces, 6 shapes 3 pieces each., intending to turn them into tiny dollhouses for the 1/12" dollhouse.
I cannot see myself doing 18 tiny dollhouses but at least I'll see what can be done with each shape.

This one is my first tiny dollhouse.

There is still to make indoor rooms and maybe some teeny-tiny bits of furniture.

The house measures 5.5X3,5 cm.

The first one on the top left side of the photo was used in my previous vignette. The second one, 3rd on the top of the photo is what this dollhouse is made from.

My first "Corona Days" vignette"

Hello dear readers

I hope you are all well and healthy.  Keep on taking care, safety is very important, especially now the quarantine is almost over.

I finished my first "Corona Days" vignette. I wanted it to be cheerful and represent spring.
Before the glass panel was inserted.

My green T-shirt reflected on the glass, hahaha...

The tree, from a dried-out stem of a bunch of grapes.

I hope the next boxes will be easier to make.  This one gave me a lot of trouble but finally, I managed to fit it into the frame.  It doesn't look nice from the back though, but nobody can notice and the good thing is that it sits tight even without gluing it permanently.

Have a great creative week ahead with blessings.

A new scene in a frame

Hello dear friends,

The shops outside malls have been opened here, people are allowed to go outside, as long as they keep wearing face marks and gloves  The beaches are open again, but no big gathering allowed. No theaters, no concert halls no restaurants and cafeterias. It's hard to be happy while you realize that all around you, young people with families are losing their jobs.

No, I didn't get flowers for Mother's Day,  instead, I created a new flower arrangement.  The reason I didn't, is because we don't celebrate it any longer.  We celebrate Family Day instead, at a different time.

I completed the box to fit the frame.  It's not perfect, It was a lot more difficult to cut the wood than I guessed and I think it's too deep.  I am thinking of making a new box before going on and to
 use 3mm thick balsa wood.

It doesn't look bad when you look at it from the front but hanging on a wall it will stick out 6 cm
4 cm away from the wall will leave enough room for scenes.

I received my order from Aliexpress for tiny laser-cut different shapes of wooden houses. The idea is to make little dollhouses for the dollhouse from them. It's no big deal. I already made the plan.

I wish you all good health and blessings.

Keeping busy while confined at home

Hello dear friends,

first of all, I want to thank you, dear friends, for your compassionate comments on my previous post. The situation is hard on all of us, each with his own problems.

I went through my stash and found these little frames that I bought on a sale long ago and forgot all about them.  I intend to make little vignettes.  I still have a few of those little chef magnets with which to make a new bbq scene or maybe a little kitchen. It doesn't hurt to have a few gifts in stock.

This little vignette was a giveaway back in 2011. (Thanks, Blogger for not deleting the photo.) I did several more but they were all gifted away.

Going through my stash is a time-consuming job. I got sidetracked and my head was filled with lots of plans and new ideas.  I found long-forgotten treasures. Here are two large transparent beads. Glued to each other they make an impressive flower vase. It's the first time I am pleased that I hoarded, there's enough to keep me occupied for months to come, now that I decided to work on smaller scales.

I haven't glued the flowers into the vase,  they're loose and turning about so you can't see my latest madness.
I dried baby breath flowers in a jar full of silica.  Plucked out the dried flowers and painted the stems and branches green. Then I glued on tiny white paper flowers.

The vase is a glass bead. The three stems are very thin but strong and able to go through the small hole in the bead. The flowers look very delicate and I am quite pleased with the result.

I hope all is well with you and yours and that you keep staying healthy. Blessings to all of you my dear friends and followers.
