Works of a 92 years young man

Hello dear readers,

I promised you photos from the exposition.  Despite the chaos, electrical wires on the floor, boxes everywhere, I was able to take a few.  I was very much impressed by the work of this stunning man who crafts all of the scenes you'll see below from everyday
materials he happens to find.  He is 92 years old, I haven't met him in person yet and look forward to do so this Friday the 8th of August.  The photos were taken with my IPhone.  The spotlights were off and I'm
sure his work will look even better when they'll be on.

Here you'll see works of another artist.  This artist builds boats.  The boats a little large for dollhouse minis but are really fantastic.  He builds them from scratch.  I know none of them and am really anxious to meet all the artists participating.  There is also a shelf dedicated to 8 - 10 years old children's work.  I saw some and they are amazing.  Hope to be able to photo and show them here soon.

On Tuesday, when I went to Jaffa to hand over the two stalls, I took a few photos with my IPhone of
simply gorgeous miniatures and scenes by the other participants.  The place was in chaos, room boxes all over, lights still not, had to carefully watch my steps but despite all this it was a marvelous experience.

I don't have the time now to share these photos with you but rest assured that you'll see them soon.

Teapots and jugs stall

Hello again my dear readers

This one is the last of 9 stalls for the exposition.   I can't wait to see the stalls displayed.  All four sizes of jugs
are made by me, using Marlies' tutorial.  Thank you Marlies.

I wanted to fill one large jug with flowers.  Had to think of a quick way to do so because of the short
time left, so I used dried grape stems.  Here is how it's done:

I painted the stems green, trimmed the points, glued on punched paper stars, when dry glued punched
paper daisies, added some leaves and that's it.

Tomorrow I'll work all morning at the museum, helping to install my displays.  I'll try to take as many as
possible photos to show you.

Candy and Cake stall

Hello dear readers

First of all I want to thank you for your kind words of support.  Let's all pray for peace here and everywhere
else in this world.

The last few days kept me busy making two more stalls for the exhibition.  I've been asked by the curator if
it was possible, for the short time left, to prepare two additional stalls for the market.  With nine stalls
this market is a getting to be a fair.

Since there was very little time, I decided to make a cake and candy stall. For this purpose I used  one of the three straw stalls  which  didn't go to the show.  I put away the baskets and added two shelves.

The reason I chose to do this stall is because I already have many of the products at hand, many of them
made by very dear and special friends.

This cake is Blake giveaway prize which I won. Blake is a young and super talented
clay artist.  For a very long time Blake hasn't posted.  I look forward to hear from you
dear Blake.

This cake is made by  Jennifer.  Dear Jennifer,  did you ever believe your work will one day be displayed
in a far away country, Israel?

This cake was made by Tatiana.  Dear Tatiana you probably never thought your work will
be shown at a museum in Jaffa.  My dear I am sure your work deserves to be displayed in
any museum around the world.

The chocolate roll is made by Gonda, a wonderful, talented artist.

I am now working on the second stall which I intend to fill with teapots and cans.  Will show you
when I finish. Tomorrow I'll take out my clay and start making teapots. Tuesday I have to go again
to the museum and hand over the finished stalls.  By than many of the shelves will already be filled
and I shall maybe able to take some photos.

The Jaffa Museum

Hello dear readers

Yesterday my daughter helped me take the miniatures over to the museum.
In my last post I wrote that the mini-art exposition is to replace the dolls but when
we arrived some of the dolls were still there as most of their owners from all over the country
couldn't come to collect them because of the fights in Gasa and the rockets alarms.
We were amazed to discover what a stunning exposition of dolls.  These were not
antiques as I mistakenly thought and wrote.  All were artistically hand made and very beautiful.

The mini-art exposition, due to circumstances, will be postponed and the opening take place
on August 8.  I had to leave everything packed in storage there.

Nilly took a few photos with her Iphone  We didn't take a camera along believing the place
will be empty.

The building itself is very old and the show rooms are stunning.

 I chose to show you these very cute and humorous works.  These are not dollhouse size miniatures.
 I really regret it that we didn't go to see this exposition when it was going on.

Carmen's giveaway win

This sweet baby is Carmen's giveaway gift.  It arrived  at my door by our very friendly post lady.
Carmen also hooked the beautiful rug.  Carmen is one of the most generous bloggers who crafts and gives away frequently, beautiful miniatures that she creates.  This is the second time I was lucky to win and
cherish some of Carmen's creations.


Thank you dear Carmen. I am very happy with your lovely gifts.

Between alarm sirens and short stays in a sheltered area,  I am still cleaning and fixing the pieces
destined for the exposition.  Next Sunday is the time to take them over to the Museum.  By the
way, this mini-art show will replace the present exposition of antique dolls which was a great
success.

This stall was built by me.  I used real leather for the handbags and belts and some raffia for the straw bags.

I am sure I showed you before this little 1/48" scale dollhouse in a tea box.  It goes to
the exposition.  Except for the bathroom and a few pieces in the dinning room, I made
everything, using craft sticks, beads, nail decoration and matches. The wallpaper is from
the internet.

There are two more pieces to be finished, a fruit stand and an antique stand.

I have to pack everything carefully.  I already collected some carton crates for that purpose.

I hope that by my next post there will be a cease fire and peace, for who knows how long, for both parts.
