A home for Solly Part 2

Hello dear readers, Solly is a cheerful little winged bear, handcrafted by ny very talented friend Birgit, BiWuBaer.blogspot.com. (link didn't work) Solly is a gift which brings smiles everytime I look at him. the charming yound Solly has been with me over 4 years, didn't have a place of his own and never complained about it. I wanted him to have a cheerful sunny room and this is what it's going to look like. Couln't find wall paper so I experimented with decoupaging a papernapkin. How you like the result.
I cut strips of 1/4" wooden beads to frame the ugly openning of the box and enlarge the depth a tiny bit. Exceps for the indoors and bottom part, I didn't glue them yet on the frame. Will do so after inserting the floors and fireplace.
Doesn't look like a big progress but believe me it was hard work. Cutting and sawing wood to exact size by hand is not my cup of tea. The wall papering was fun. Even Baalatova liked the result. I wish you all delightful sunny days with blessings.

The third scene on a

Hello dear readers, I had to complete the third and last of the three scenes on a slice of tree branch before starting with the project of Solly's home. One thing led to another, you'll see what I mean with the next photos and I found myself even more busy, this time with miniatures. This is the new scene. Trees made out of grapes stems and foam, houses out of ceramic clay, fired in a kiln and than painted. Lake and duck out of my homemade cold porcelain.
First I made a bunch of clay houses intended for this scene (as well as for filling walnuts shells). Then I cooked, the cold porcelain clay, but I didn't calculate the quantity needed for the lake and ducks. This clay has to be used within a limit of time before it dries out, so I made a larger duck to be filled with tiny flowers. And then I made more ducks and, please don't laugh, I began to think that this clay will never end so I gave what was left to some ladies at the center to play with. I made paper flowers to fill some of the empty duck flower to be given as little "thank you" gifts. Now you know what kept me away from Solly's home.
This little fellow is small enough to be displayed in a nutshell. The next photo shows what was used to fill it.
Now I have time at leisure to go and enjoy visiting my favorite blogs with a hope that my comments will be visable. I wish you, my dear readers, a lovely weekend with blessings. I

A Home for Solly

Helo dear readers This is my first post of this month. I found out lately that time devided on many different jobs runs out much quicker than it should. I was looking for new materials at the craft corner of Max Stock, one of the largest department stores in my town that sells small accessories for the home. I found among other things, this set of two wooden boxes. The larger box can make a nice home for little solly who has been hinting about having a place of his own. There are some pieces of furniture that will fit in, including a bed.
I also am making tiny clay houses which I need for my walnuts shells and other projects. the photos show them here before and after sanding. Later on they will be sent to be fired in Nilly's kiln.
It is funny how minis keep invading my fridge's door.
First photo - a gift from my daughter Galia. Second photo - gifts from family and a friend.
I wish you beautiful days of sunshine same as we enjoy here now. Blessings to all my readers and friends!

Home for a Gnome

Hello dear readers, I have been working on the second slice of wood. This one also has a tree but without a house on top. Instead the house is a nutshell surrounded be a garden and a home for a gnome.
The Tree - branches are grape stems glued on a cherry-tomatoe's can which makes the trunk. It is then covered with air-dry clay and painted brown.
The pond - A small piece of acetate glued on a piece of blue and white painted paper. Tiny little stones are glued all around the acetate ("to prevent the water from overflowing").
Almost finished. Only a few tiny details are missing.
Complete with final details - a bluebird on top of the tree and ducks on the pond.
I wish you a lovely Sunday tomorrow with blessings.

Women's Day gifts

Hello dear readers, I've less and less time for miniatures lately but I have fun working at the Day Care Center, teaching handcrafts that I learn from Pinterest, Youtube and other sources. Alone at home I made 18 Women's Day miniature flower arrangements for Women's Day as gifts for the wonderful staff who work with the people at the Day-Center.
I purchased disposable, transparent little boxes for packing the little gifts. It's easier to transport fragile items in these boxes and can also serve as a dust protector. They come in a package of 18 and are inexpensive. I also purchased from Aliexpress a set of 6 ceramic vases. They arrived quickly on time and are surprisingly well made. (I was not so sure about the quality because of the low price.)
Sooner or later I'll have to buy a new PC. This one is getting too old and capricious, or maybe it's me? I wish you a lovely weekend with blessings. <

Christmas and New-Year gifts received

Hello dear readers, I just realized that January is almost coming to its end and before it does so, I want to show your the wonderful gifts that I received for Christmas, Hannukkah and New Year.
Thank you so much dear Birgit (https://biwubaer.blogspot.com/) for your generous, thoughtful and delicious gifts. Solly and I love the mug. Balatova wanted to add wheels to the mug for taking Solly out for rides but Solly strongly opposed. The following items are gifts from local friends and family imported especially for me from Aliexpress.
A warm welcome and thank you to all my new followers. I wish you all a lovely weekend with blessings.

TheTrees New Year

Hello dear readers, Today, in Israel, we are celebrating TU-BESHVAT, A new year for the trees. Our Jewish calendar has 4 new years. Well, even I am not quite familiar with all four of them, but this one, is well remembered because since childhood I went out with my class-mates and our teache to plant trees. We got to eat plenty of delicious fruits and nuts as well. I'm not sure the children will be able to go out planting trees now because of the epidemic. The Hebrew lunar year is about 11 days shorter than the solar year and uses the 19-year Metonic cycle to bring it into line with the solar year, with the addition of an intercalary month every two or three years, for a total of seven times per 19 years. Even with this intercalation, the average Hebrew calendar year is longer by about 6 minutes and 40 seconds than the current mean tropical year, so that every 216 years the Hebrew calendar will fall a day behind the current mean tropical year. For this occasion, I gaveaway two flowers and plants stand to the Day Care Center. The stands will be permanently displayed under glass cover.
I used recycled wooden chopsticks, popsiclesticks, egg-carton, colored paper, beads, to make the stands. I wish you a lovely creative week with blessings!!
