Another meeting with fellow Israeli miniaturists

Hello all,

This meeting, which we all looked forwards to with great excitement, was just incredible fun.
Almost 8 hours of workshop with wonderful end results.

Suzy, our hostess is a very talented lady.  She paints and creates beautiful objects, not only miniatures, and her house and garden are full of gorgeous objects.  I took a few photos with my Iphone to show you a some of her very original miniature scenes.

It was difficult to take a good shot with the lights on but you can see how good Suzy's work is.

As for our workshop.  Sarit Eshed and Limor Moyal, a very clever miniature artists mother and daughter team, taught us how to make air-drying porcelain clay dough.  It looked quite easy and a short time to make using only 4 ingredients,  1 cup corn flour, one cup white glue, 2 tablespoons vinegar and 1 tablespoons baby oil.

Next we learned how to use the clay to make bread,  a cake, flowers, cookies and a cupcake.
I'll show you mine in a later post.  It takes a day or two for the clay to dry for the final results.
Also I didn't have time to finish the shabby chic painting on the little table.

We also learned how to paint shabby chic furniture but had to take the furniture home to finish.
We had so much fun and good food, that we hardly wanted to leave.

On arrival, each of us left a swap on a side table.  All the parcels had to be gift wrapped.
At the end of the stay, before leaving we each picked a parcel.  Mine was a lovely bath
shelves unit from Goldie.  This is the second time out of three that I picked up an anonymous
parcel and found out it's from Goldie.

I'm afraid I won't be able to attend the next meeting scheduled for the end of June as it's planned for a
workshop of two days with an overnight stay in the north and I'm unable to leave my husband to cope alone and he is yet unable to travel.

Blessings to all

Five days left before the draw

Hello dear followers,

I just want to remind you that there's still time to take part in this giveaway draw.

The good news are that my parcel to Amary arrived  last week.  It took over one month to get to her which drove me mad with worry since Amary will be moving to another state in the USA within a few days.  What a relief that this race against time  ended well.    Amary, being busy
with moving house will probably show you later what she received.  I can only tell you she is happy.
Now I can move on with creating and showing you things for Fingerella.

Other good news are that next Tuesday, (day after tomorrow), there will be a third meeting with the Israeli miniaturists.  We are planning to do something shabby chic.  The meeting will be at Suzy's
home and everybody is very excited about it.  I hope I'll be able to show you some of Suzy's wonderful works.  We try to hold the meetings somewhere in the center of our country to make
is easy for miniaturists from all over, north, south and east of our country, to come.  Some arrive by
train. My swap as well as a little gift for the hostess are already wrapped.

A warm welcome to Teresa (Santiaga55).

Have a wonderful creative week with my blessings

Ceramics,Fruit and Pastry

Hello all,

So many projects awaiting implementation and I got carried away with ceramics and egg shell mosaics and wonder if such situations happen to other miniaturists.  I used Pepper's advice, stayed home on the gloomy days, which are now over, and worked on more plates and mini food to put on them.
I have a lot more to learn and know my future work will be much better.

By the way, the pastries too are ceramic.  The fruit - Fimo.

This really is addictive.  The wall hangings  look like naive paintings.

I wish you all lovely Spring days and blessings

Sunday, April 12, 2015

Hello again,

My ceramics, which awaited  the opportunity when my daughter uses her kiln, were fired and this is what came out.

I filled one two layered plate to see how it will  look.

This is what they looked like before.

I am rather pleased with the results.

The weather here can't be trusted.  We enjoyed lovely spring days at the beginning of April. Next
came a day which was too hot and dry and felt like inside of an oven.  Now winter is here again.
Today it rained and hailed and is really cold.  I took a photo to show you how gloomy this morning
looked. Usually, from this window of our apartment on the fifth floor, the sky is blue and we can
even see as far asTel-Aviv.

A very warm welcome to my new followers Marina Boikova, Ana Alonso and Anna.  Thank you for following.

I wish you all a nice creative week and blessings

Happy Easter and Happy Passover

Hello dear readers,

It's nice that we can always celebrate together Easter and Passover, which happen, nearly always at about the same time.

These beautifully embroidered eggshell photos are from the internet.

The two wall hangings are new experiments with eggshell mosaics.  I think I'm making progress with my efforts.

I wish you all a very Happy Easter and Passover.  Blessings
