Tatiana's Gifts

Hello again my dear readers,

I'm not used to posting day after day but I love to give full credit to very generous friends who sent me wonderful gifts.  The  least I can do is thank them by writing about it.

My very dear friend,Tatiana, created 5 little beautiful coffee grinders and riffled all five among the people who commented on the post where she showed them. I was one of the five lucky winners.   Day before yesterday a parcel arrived containing one stunning grinder and look what exquisite extras. Gorgeous flowers in a beautiful vase and a delicious meal in an oven tray, all crafted by this talented and very generous lady.
THANK YOU TATIANA!!!

I long to make a kitchen.  I already have a lot of stuff for it.  I even have one spare Ikea hothouse kit which I plan to turn into a kitchen. The only thing missing is space in our apartment.  Tatiana's gifts as well as
Jane's are a great push.

Blessings and hugs to all.

A gift from far away Brazil

Hello dear readers,

A few months ago Evelyne Martin from Brazil was the winner of my giveaway.  I have forgotten all about it, when last week  a large envelope, full of stamps arrived.  It contained a lovely, thoughtful, totally unexpected gift, a DIY magazine.  A souvenir from Brazil to keep and treasure.
Here are two of the many projects.

THANK YOU EVELYNE!!! This is a very touching gesture by you.

You will find wonderful and very interesting articles in Evelyne's blog, including tutorials.

The clay is cold porcelain, but it can, of course, be substituted with any polyclay.

Another gift arrived all the way from Kiev, but it deserves it's own post, so please stay tuned.

Hug and blessings to all my friends

Dollhouse and Real life Elephants

Hello dear readers,

I didn't mean to start another collection, but somehow little elephants kept arriving by courtesy of Jennifer, BirgitCarolyn , family and friends. I have them temporary displayed on a makeshift structure.

I have a great respect for elephants.  These huge animals can be tender and loving, especially with their young cubs. I would like to share with you a video clip, one of the best I have seen.

I wish you a wonderful weekend.  Blessings.

The flower shop box completed

Hello again my dear readers,
Once I decided to use the box with the see through lid, it did'nt take too long to finish the shop. The box is one of 8 wooden boxes I purchased a few months ago on a sale.  It is 20x13x5 cms.
Doesn't leave much space for a whole shop but it can hang on a wall or stand on a table and it is easy to keep dust free.

Sorry the photos are not very good, especially this one, behind glass.

The work table is made from scratch.  I found a piece of wood from the children's broken wooden cash box, and made the table top. The legs are 1/4" square wooden strips. The  cellophane dispenser is made of two popsicle sticks' ends and a wooden toothpick held by two tiny metal rings which I glued to the sticks ends.  The scissors are fimo and the string raffia.

A warm welcome to Angeles Sanches Ruiz  as well as  to all my new followers from bloglovin.  Thank you for doing me the honor of reading this blog.

Blessings and hugs

The flower shop continued

Hello all,

Finally I decided to go back and work with the smaller box for the reason that it has a cover that can be opened and  that it can be dust free and  hang on a wall if wished.  To do so, I shortened some of the flower stems and am using paper jugs from Marley tutorial.  I think my friend, who is not a miniaturist, will like this better than a big roombox.

As promised, I took photos of the way I made a shelf unit, using ordinary craft stuff which can be easily found.

I had to glue two pieces together. A single one was too thin.

It didn't look nice, as you can see, but I glued on a piece of wood strip and it looks better now.

I wouldn't recommend making elegant furniture  this way but for a flower shop or a potting shed it is sufficient.

Next I have to make a work table where the flower arrangement can be prepared.  I won't be able to use all the flowers I made but I am very pleased to have them ready for a giveaway or swaps.

Blessings to all!

The flower shop

I got a little carried away with the flowers.  There are far too many for the little flower shop box I intended to make as a gift for my friend.  It's a good thing her birthday is in mid- October because the box I have at hand is too small and I'll have to make a new,  larger one.  It's also a good thing that she doesn't read my blog because it's going to be a surprise.

Here are photos of the flowers, new as well as old.

The too small box.

I'll try to take photos along the way when building the box but first I have to make a few shelves.

We just ended celebrating 3 days of our New Year, a very long weekend.  This didn't leave much time for miniatures but was a lovely holiday with  the family united.

I wish you a wonderful Sunday and my blessings.
