The Feast of Purim

 Hello dear readers,

Last week was one of the saddest in the history of Israel. We mourned the return in caskets of the remains of Shiri Bibas and her two innocent kids.  The funeral began in my town and went a long way to the burial site. Thousands of citizens with tears in their eyes stood along two sides of the road to pay homage to the victims.

But, as always, life goes on and next week we celebrate PURIM, a merry feast, especially for the kids who love masquerading.  Purim falls next week.

After what we've gone through, our municipality, to lift our spirits, is preparing a Purim Pared with clowns.

On my witch, Baalatova's command, I dressed up Solly who was excited to join the festivities.  Here are two options.  You are invited to let Solly know which you like best. Kitty the cat girl refused to change her beautiful dress and boldly said no to Baalatova.

The third bags rack was a hit and sold on the spot.  Since it was the order of a special friend I made a taller rack and added 4 extra bags. There are now three more orders and all three are for my friends I'll have to do 12 extra bags.  My friends will have to wait patiently.

LET'S ALL WISH FOR A BETTER WORLD, NO MORE WARS AND PEACE .

Blessings and hugs to all my friends and readers.

we love it and look forward to it every year. This year, to raise the mood, the municipality is planning a real festival and the following photo shows one of the preparations for the parade. And you can already see the crowd of curious people around

  1. Dear Drora, I am saddened by the horrors you have had to live through. Yes, we wish Peace to arrive and stay! I am glad that you are going to enjoy Purim to the fullest. It is the best way to revive spirits, and life goes on as you say. I think Solly looks wonderful in either costume! The spring flowers on the hat and bag are a cheerful touch! But the sunglasses for "Solly" might be what he really needs! I think you should let him decide... or have him change costumes in the middle! And kitty is wise to not bother changing her costume! She knows what she likes! I wish you all a Joyous and Sunny Purim!

  2. Dearest Drora, I can understand the sadness you had to go through, we all hope (also we people who live in peace) that peace will come in your (and other countries, and will stay.
Thank you for explaing the feast of Purim, I am not familiar with it. I truly hope it will bring joy to the people at your country/place.
I would have loved seeing Solly dressed up for the feast, but I also know that BiWuBears don't like much wearing clothes ;). What I also do love are those sun glasses :). At the other hand the bag and hat suits him well.
Your selfmade rack with more hats and bags is wonderful, they are very successful.
Stay safe and wishing you and yours a joyous Purim!
    Warm hugs, Ilona

  6. Sorry, I'm late... but now I can honestly wish that your hope that the feast of Purim might light up spirits and mood in Israel came true. And I'm sure Solly made a perfect choice for his outfit... I would suppose he went with the "Joe Cool"-sunglasses... *smile* And I can truly understand Kitty... I would not give away a dress as pretty as hers neither. ;O)

It's no surprise that your rack sold and was so much appreciated... and of course also not that you already received more orders. Take your time and make yourself no pressure... I am convinced your friends also know that the joy of anticipation is the nicest joy. *wink*

    Hugs
