Hello dear readers,
Let the new year be a better one than the year before! War and enmities still prevail here, but life must go on.
I'm filling new racks with cakes, cookies, and candies to sweeten the situation The picture below shows the first model. My friends at the senior day center love the model and from now on we will start working with both sweets and plant racks.
A young girl, who serves a term in doing national service instead of military service at our senior day care center. The girl's name is Adi, the same as my granddaughter's. Adi was supposed to help me paint the racks. I discovered that she is a very talented painter so now she paints little paintings on egg-carton pieces and I make easels for them from coffee stirrers. (I'd love to see Monet and Van Gogh's reactions)
The Hanukka bazaar at the center was a great success. A large quantity of knitted items of clothing, bags, rugs, and toys were sold. For the first time, our plants' wooden racks and easels were displayed. They were all sold out.
As usual, I try to make an impact at work on the importance of recycling. Lovely things can be made from everything around the house.. The sales help the Center purchase materials for giving work and purpose for life to the 200 permanent senior visitors.
Hugs and blessings to you all.
That´s a good help I think! Very fine paintings! Hugs Britt
ReplyDeleteDear Drora, your mini projects look fun and sweet! It is wonderful to have a helper who paints so beautifully in tiny mini scale! It is no wonder they sold at the Fair! I hope you continue to have fun with creating projects with your Seniors, it is so therapeutic to make things! Stay well and pray for peace.
ReplyDeleteDear Drora, your miniature racks/stands look great and you even got help from a new creative soul, her paintings look beautiful: compliments to Adi!
ReplyDeleteYour seniors are so lucky to have you and your creative help for their projects, it's next to therapeutic also much fun, for yourself too, Drora.
Stay safe, dear friend. Hugs,
Ilona
Great project and it must be very rewarding to make miniatures with other people at the centre. Great work from Adi.
ReplyDeletePlease tell Adi she is really, REALLY talented... her paintings look awesome and I have no doubt that Monet and Van Gogh would totally agree on that.
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely to see your newest ideas and the results, it's always a great thing to sweeten up one's life so a candy shop is always welcome. And the cooperation between you and your easels with Adi's miniature versions of great art is stunning. I'm not surprised that all of this wonderful work including the knitted things etc. from your craft group sold out. And it's such a rewarding thing to know that these things are not only appreciated by the people who bought them but that this money being earned will contribute to their community.
Hugs
Birgit
Hello Drora, nice to have you back, with a beautifully made stall and goodies, the painting work is also beautiful
ReplyDeleteДорогая, я поздравляю тебя, твою семью и близких с новым годом. Желаю здоровья, спокойной жизни, счастья и удачи. Девиз 2025 года : год до его конца!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, dear Katerina.
ReplyDeletePerfect cakes and lovely paintings plus a very good idea to use wooden coffee stirrers to make easels! At our neck of the woods, though, recycling is a big thing for households and industries alike. As a household, we collect all plastics, carton, paper, glass, and metal separately although we still have one bin for unrecyclables, too. The same at the office. We do not even have bins under our desks - you must take your trash to the collecting point or home. Most bottles, plastics or glass, and all beverage cans have a deposit of 0.10 to 0.40 euros, depending on the size, which you pay when you buy them. When you return the empty bottle/can to a collecting point (all automatic) your deposit is returned. Many industrial manufacturers today, too, pay attention to their packaging - much of the plastics is being replaced by carton.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful minis.
