First Zen garden vignette complete

 Hello dear readers,

Here is the first completed vignette out of a three Zen gardens project. My dear friend Birgit sent me the little Buddha as well as other items, all parts of her 2020 Christmas gifts.

Complete with perspex "glass".

Without glass.  I hope to have captured a serenity atmosphere.  Below, you can see the stages of how the scene was planned.

The tree is made from electrical copper wires covered with masking tape.  The foliage is also part of Birgit's Christmas gifts.

The Japanese "stone" lantern is made from beads and bits.  (See photo below.) The wooden spool is also a part of Birgit's Christmas gifts.

I made another version of the "stone" lantern but it resulted too large for the vignette.  I'll probably use it in another larger picture frame.

The box inside the frame measures in centimeters 12 width x 8.5 length x 3.5 depth.  The frame is 15 x 11.

I sincerely hope your summer is cooler than ours. It's melting hot outside.  At least I have a good air-conditioner which enables me to keep working on my minis.

Dear readers, I wish you all a lovely restful weekend with blessings.

  1. He necesitado mucho este jardín zen, los estantes son ideales para ellos. la fuente es estupenda, increíble que esté hecha de abalorios. Aquí también hay mucho calor, pero es el aire acondicionado lo que te ayudará a respirar mejor. Feiz verano Drora, besos y cuidate

  6. Arghh! I tried to comment yesterday and got an error message. Sometimes I hate computers. But I love the lanterns, they look so much like stone! And your tree is lovely, reminds me of bonsai trees and it looks perfect in your little vignette.

  8. Wow, I'm impressed to see you already finished the first vignette! It turned out wonderful, such a lovely place to be. And you've captured so well the special atmosphere of such a garden and the decoration you made is awesome. The lanterns are stunning and the tree too... so good my foliage came in handy for you as well as the buddha. Fingers crossed that his buddies will make it soon to your door.

Take good care of yourself and have fun working on minis.
    Hugs
    Birgit

  9. Absolutely beautiful, Drora! I love how you presented the sky, and the tape for the tree bark is ingenious!
But what most impresses me is the way you can look at everyday objects and see them combine into amazing possibilities!
This is such a fun undertaking, and I am so happy to get to see this level of creativity!
