Book Nook (Part 3)

Hello dear readers,

Like most of you, I'm working on my Christmas and Hanukka gifts.  I still do not know when it will be possible for me to go out and send them to their destinations and they'll be probably late in arrival but my friends and family will have to forgive me this time, we're all in the same boat.  Better late than never.

In between, and while waiting for the light fixtures and mirror, I was able to make a little progress in the book-nook project.  Just adding colorful flowers to the rather boring stone walls seemed not enough so I stole from my accumulated hoarded staff an old piece of stained-glass contact paper, framed it with a piece of plastic net, and glued it on the door of the bookshop. I realized too late that a shop if it wants clients to enter has to have a door.  I was lucky there was barely enough space for the door but I managed to create one and install it as part of the shop facade.

Before and after

There are more, lots of time-consuming flowers, plants and a hanging flower basket to make for the balcony and windows of the opposite wall. I'll tend to it after I finish the two Holidays gifts.

Please take care of yourselves and your families and stay safe.  Blessings!

  2. Dear Drora, I am so glad to see you are safe and making minis! The door you added to the book nook is Brilliant! It looks just like so many RL shops in tiny places with the door squeezed into a corner! Keep up the great work and stay safe! :)

  7. Your book-nook project has got nice touches of some cheerful colors, Drora, and I agree with you: together with the (missing) door now the shop facade looks balanced well, it's wonderful to see!!
And I too had to laugh to read that the door was still not there ;O)! Good luck in making mini flowers, I bet that they will be the cherry on the cake.
Stay safe, take care, dearest Drora!
    Warm hugs, Ilona

  8. The addition of the door (I like its colours) is perfect if you had shown the first version we wouldn't have realized you had forgotten the door. I like the curtains and the flowers very much.

  11. Phew, what a relief to hear that the bookstore owner was saved from ruin because the property manager added a door! *LOL* And what a door - it was a great idea / find from your stash to add this colourful glass and I also like the cheerful writing. I really enjoy every progress you're making on this project and I wish you loads of fun with the flowers. Take good care of yourself but don't care about shipping packages... spreading happiness should not depend on the calendar! ;O)

    Hugs

  16. Ha, yes, a door was sort of necessary. Unless it happened to be around the corner where you couldn't see it... I have lots of imagination. However, your door next to the display windown turned out stunning and now it's not only a door, it's a feature. The window boxes with flowers are cheerful and bright. I love how your project is progressing.
