Christmas gifts

Hello dear readers, It's been quite a while since my last post. There are circumstaces beyond my control, the first is the war that still goes on costing a heavy. intolarble price of lives. Our 2024 year started on the wrong foot. Exactly on 12 O'clock, instead of fireworks and kisses we received a heavy barrage of missiles on Tel-Aviv and other cities in the center of our country, including the town where I live. To sum it up, 130 captives. including children and women, remain in the hands of the cruelest of human beings with no news Their families are crushed down with worry and sadness. I feel that in the rear we, the citizens, are sitting on barrels full of explosives. We are strong people and have to carryon as well as we can. Now what can be better than in the midst of this situation gifts arrive, giving me a taste of Holidays and celebrations. The first parcel came from Ricardo, a very kind and generous blogfriend from Spain. It arrive by surprise on time for Hanukkah. I was very happy to show my family the treasures Ricardo created.
THANK YOU DEAR RICARDO FOR YOUR VERY VALUED FRIENDSHIP! The second parcel came from Birgit, my kind and wonderful friend from Germany. It arrived two days before Christmas. Solly and Baalatova, the curious pair were the first to view the parcel before I opened
THANK YOU DEAREST BIRGIT FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND YOUR COMPASSION ALL THESE YEARS WE'VE KNOWN EACH OTHER. I wish you all a blessful weekend.

  5. Dear Drora, The gifts arrived in spite of trouble and war and horror! It is so amazing that the post arrives from so far away. It is an example of human cooperation at its best. I Hope your New Year will only get better! You and yours are in my prayers.

  6. When seeing the very lovely photo of my dear friend with the bag I sent you I was thinking "I really hope that Drora will soon be able to take this bag out shopping without any fears and without any cares about knowing where the next shelter is". I know, it will sadly take some time still - but we shall never give up hope.

I must confess I regained some hope during the last days when thousands of my fellow Germans went on the streets and demonstrated for democracy and humanity - and in many towns big and small. For example in my birthtown aka our capital Kiel they expected 300 demonstrants and in the end there were 4000. In big cities there were so many tens of thousands that the police had to close it for safety reasons. People of all sorts went on the streets to show their attitude and to show the fascists we are the majority. It's so good to see this and I hope this goes on. It was for sure a shock to hear about a conspiracy meeting in Potsdam last November when some fascists (among them even the assistant of Alice Weidel, parliamentary group leader of the AFD party in our federal parliament) made plans about something they called "re-migration". Disgusting in any way... and even more as they chose a place in Potsdam very close to the villa were the historical "Wannseekonferenz" took place. When will they ever learn that we are all human beings no matter where we come from, what we look like, whom we love and what we believe in.

Oops, I got carried away... I hope my gifts brought you some happiness and joy. And it's lovely to see how much Solly enjoyed the January picture with Fluby and Rosey. And Ricardo's gifts are as wonderful as he is generous... and I dare say this as I was lucky enough to receive such gifts from him too.

    Hugs
    Birgit
