Treasures from the Sea of Galilee

Year after year of very small quantities of rain, made our only lake in Israel, the Sea of Galilee, recede its level, leaving a larger shore.  On our weekend vacation to Tiberias, a town by the lake, I collected a box full of shells just lying there waiting to picked up.  In my ignorance I never knew lakes too had shells.  I thought these were salt sea water creatures.  I think these are small enough to be used in miniature scenes.  In fact, I am going to add a few in each swap I'll make in the future. They are quite beautiful.

  1. Drora, the shells are wonderful. They would be great just as you have them. Framed as a collection is a good idea. Maybe even on one of those glass topped display tables. Great find!

  2. oh! are very small! They're beautiful. I have to go for a walk along the beach more often ... and bring a magnifying glass. Let's see if I can find shells like that, so cute. Hugs and Kisses

  3. So beautiful. Any time you write about your places and sites you make me think of the Bible. It seems strange that there are actually cities with the same names. Italian are used to antiquity but you beat us of a couple of millenniums. Must come to Israel sooner or later...better sooner. Have a nice week, Rosanna
