A home for Solly Part 2
Hello dear readers,
Solly is a cheerful little winged bear, handcrafted by ny very talented friend Birgit, BiWuBaer.blogspot.com. (link didn't work) Solly is a gift which brings smiles everytime I look at him.
the charming yound Solly has been with me over 4 years, didn't have a place of his own and never complained about it. I wanted him to have a cheerful sunny room and this is what it's going to look like.
Couln't find wall paper so I experimented with decoupaging a papernapkin. How you like the result.
I cut strips of 1/4" wooden beads to frame the ugly openning of the box and enlarge the depth a tiny bit. Exceps for the indoors and bottom part, I didn't glue them yet on the frame. Will do so after inserting the floors and fireplace.
Doesn't look like a big progress but believe me it was hard work. Cutting and sawing wood to exact size by hand is not my cup of tea. The wall papering was fun. Even Baalatova liked the result.
I wish you all delightful sunny days with blessings.

The third scene on a
Hello dear readers,
I had to complete the third and last of the three scenes on a slice of tree branch before starting with the project of Solly's home. One thing led to another, you'll see what I mean with the next photos and I found myself even more busy, this time with miniatures.
This is the new scene. Trees made out of grapes stems and foam, houses out of ceramic clay, fired in a kiln and than painted. Lake and duck out of my homemade cold porcelain.
First I made a bunch of clay houses intended for this scene (as well as for filling walnuts shells). Then I cooked, the cold porcelain clay, but I didn't calculate the quantity needed for the lake and ducks. This clay has to be used within a limit of time before it dries out, so I made a larger duck to be filled with tiny flowers. And then I made more ducks and, please don't laugh, I began to think that this clay will never end so I gave what was left to some ladies at the center to play with. I made paper flowers to fill some of the empty duck flower to be given as little "thank you" gifts. Now you know what kept me away from Solly's home.
This little fellow is small enough to be displayed in a nutshell. The next photo shows what was used to fill it.
Now I have time at leisure to go and enjoy visiting my favorite blogs with a hope that my comments will be visable.
I wish you, my dear readers, a lovely weekend with blessings.

A Home for Solly
Helo dear readers
This is my first post of this month. I found out lately that time devided on many different jobs runs out much quicker than it should.
I was looking for new materials at the craft corner of Max Stock, one of the largest department stores in my town that sells small accessories for the home.
I found among other things, this set of two wooden boxes.
The larger box can make a nice home for little solly who has been hinting about having a place of his own. There are some pieces of furniture that will fit in, including a bed.
I also am making tiny clay houses which I need for my walnuts shells and other projects.
the photos show them here before and after sanding. Later on they will be sent to be fired in Nilly's kiln.
It is funny how minis keep invading my fridge's door.
First photo - a gift from my daughter Galia. Second photo - gifts from family and a friend.
I wish you beautiful days of sunshine same as we enjoy here now. Blessings to all my readers and friends!
