Believe it or not, Baalatova's garden is ready for Halloween. She is so pleased, she even broke her promise to the Skellies to join them for "ghosting" tonight.
All she wants to do is lie in her hammock and enjoy looking at the fine harvest of beautiful pumpkins. She also insists on sleeping in the hammock at night under starry skies.
The base of the garden is a piece of packing foam. First I painted it brown then I spread a layer of glue and sprinkled green flower foam over the glue.
The pumpkins were crafted by Tatiana, Birgit and myself. The dove-cote is also crafted by Birgit, in fact, it is what inspired and gave me the final push to hurry and make a garden for Baalatova in time for Halloween.
The beautiful little frog and dragons too are gifts from Birgit.
The fence and the bush with the bat on it, are gifts from Maria. The fence was originally painted half sky- blue and half lilac, I just gave it an overall black acrylic paint coat.
The trees are from a tutorial here. I needed tree trunks to hang the hammock on. With a lot of effort, as well as by trial and error, the hammock is passable, at least Baalatova is safe in it. I made an extra tree using the same technique. Later on, I want to try and fill it with foliage.

ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect rooftop garden for Baalatova to enjoy with the kittens, frogs, bats and dragons! I love the hammock - an ideal perch in which to keep an eye on everyone or to dream a while. The trees are splendid for Halloween spookiness as they now are, but adding foliage later will be fun!

Baalatova is the lucky resident of this wonderful house and rooftop garden, I bet she is very happy now, Drora, great work! It's so nice that the precious gifts of dear friends fit into this project, enjoy it all! The trees give a fantastic touch of Halloween, and ideal for hanging the hammock.

I'm glad (and a bit proud) that my modest gifts have contributed to this wonderful scene allowing dear Baalatova to have her own magical rooftop garden. It's so much fun to discover all those lovely details you've arranged so lovely - and it's great to see your witch so comfortable in her hammock. But I've made a note to myself - I think you'll need another skull of mine for the other tree-holder... I'll add this to your Christmas package! ;O) Happy Halloween... and please give the skellies a big sweet treat, hopefully they are not too upset. Next year there'll be another Halloween!
