Dear friends in beautiful Italy
My heart goes to the people who lost their dear ones and homes. I am praying for the quick recovery of the injured and wishing for their safety.
As always, the gathering of my fellow miniaturists in my home was wonderful, exciting and great fun. It was a long day workshop conducted by our very talented Sarit who taught us cutting and sculpting techniques on rigid styrofoam panels. We practiced on pieces of styrofoam.
Poke the photos to get a better view of the sculptures.
We learned how sculpt roof tiles
Here you can see Sarit showing us how to paint the tiles.
This (non opening) "wooden box" was created by Sarit from the same material.
Another example of a cut of "wood" by Sarit.
Actually we are going to build a structure according to a plan left to us by Sarit. We hope to be able
to bring the finished projects to our next meeting, somewhere in October.
It was lovely to see the girls busy practicing, laughing, humming and having fun. We were seven and each brought a little swap gift for the others.
Each received from me one decorative flower pot container and an African Violet clay duck pot.
I received a President Kennedy sculpture and painting canvas from Suzy, a poodle dog from Adi,
a watermelon and figs tray from Goldie, a useful and very sharp razor from Nava, a mailbox and house numbers from Sarit and a very pretty sewing set from Zvia.
Now I have to sculpt and curve 7 pieces of cut to size floor, roof and walls. Each piece on both interior and exterior. I still want to practice on spare pieces before I begin.
Hope to show you more in my next blog.
I wish you all a calm and lovely weekend. Blessings.
