Another meeting with fellow Israeli miniaturists

Hello all,

This meeting, which we all looked forwards to with great excitement, was just incredible fun.
Almost 8 hours of workshop with wonderful end results.

Suzy, our hostess is a very talented lady.  She paints and creates beautiful objects, not only miniatures, and her house and garden are full of gorgeous objects.  I took a few photos with my Iphone to show you a some of her very original miniature scenes.

It was difficult to take a good shot with the lights on but you can see how good Suzy's work is.

As for our workshop.  Sarit Eshed and Limor Moyal, a very clever miniature artists mother and daughter team, taught us how to make air-drying porcelain clay dough.  It looked quite easy and a short time to make using only 4 ingredients,  1 cup corn flour, one cup white glue, 2 tablespoons vinegar and 1 tablespoons baby oil.

Next we learned how to use the clay to make bread,  a cake, flowers, cookies and a cupcake.
I'll show you mine in a later post.  It takes a day or two for the clay to dry for the final results.
Also I didn't have time to finish the shabby chic painting on the little table.

We also learned how to paint shabby chic furniture but had to take the furniture home to finish.
We had so much fun and good food, that we hardly wanted to leave.

On arrival, each of us left a swap on a side table.  All the parcels had to be gift wrapped.
At the end of the stay, before leaving we each picked a parcel.  Mine was a lovely bath
shelves unit from Goldie.  This is the second time out of three that I picked up an anonymous
parcel and found out it's from Goldie.

I'm afraid I won't be able to attend the next meeting scheduled for the end of June as it's planned for a
workshop of two days with an overnight stay in the north and I'm unable to leave my husband to cope alone and he is yet unable to travel.

Blessings to all

And thanks for sharing the stunning work of your host - my, is this lady talented. I wish I could steal that pumpkin carriage and the gypsy waggon right out of the photos... *LOL* I'm sorry to hear you'll have to miss the next meeting, but don't be too sad... it's for good reasons and the next time you will join them again - to receive the next lovely gift from Goldie! *LOL* What a darling shelf!.
